The funeral of your loved one is incredibly important, and you want it to be something that’s right for them, you as a family and ultimately a real celebration of who they were and what they meant to those who loved them most.

The services that I conduct are a celebration of life and depending on your wishes can include religious elements, some family’s want hymns and religious readings, others just the Lord’s Prayer and some families don’t want any religious elements at all. I can help create a service in accordance with yours and your loved ones wishes.

The process is really simple if you’d like me to conduct a service for you, you can either contact me directly via this website or social media or you can get your chosen Funeral Director to get in contact.

I will then arrange to come and meet with you and your family, and we can have a chat about your loved one. I always say to my family’s, that it might feel like I’m asking lots of silly questions, but it’s just so I can get a real sense of who your loved one was, what they enjoyed in life, your special memories, things they liked, disliked, their childhood, working life, their hobbies – anything and everything. We can also look at photos and mementoes. All of this really helps me create a service that is unique to your loved one,

We can also discuss the atmosphere and tone of the service, poetry and music choices. Whether you want a family member or friend to say something during the service, or if you’d like to place flowers or drawings from younger family members on the coffin during the service.

I can also talk you through any practical issues that might arise on the day or help with anything you’re unsure of.

Following on from the initial meeting, I’ll put together a service that reflects everything we’ve spoken about, that truly reflects and celebrates the life of your loved one. You will always get to see a draft beforehand and we can make as many changes as necessary until it’s perfect.

On the day of the funeral, I will liaise with the Funeral Director to ensure that everything is organised and runs smoothly. I’ll conduct the service sensitively and in accordance with your wishes, ensuring that there is time for everyone to reflect on their cherished memories.

My blog has lots of helpful advice on choosing poetry and readings, music, and what to wear, and also explaining what a eulogy is, you might find them useful. But if you do have questions, please feel free to contact me.
