A huge thank you to everyone who turned up to our Bereavement cafe, the next one will take place on Monday 7th October.
I want to let you into a secret, I had a little panic before our last bereavement cafe. I started to worry that no one would turn up. I worried that people will have thoguth, "well we've tried it, we wont both again!"
I needn't have worried.
I think the last one was our busiest yet, it was lovely to see some returning faces, as well as welcoming new ones. Some people have been to everyone and what's lovely to see, is that some friendships are starting to form. People greet each other with warmth, they ask how the others been, they chat about what they've been up to, and they share memories and experiences.
New people are welcomed with open arms, a chair pulled up around the table so that they can join in the conversation. The tea and coffee flows, cakes are eaten, there's laughter, there's tears, a listeneing ear, a hug if ones needed. It is something quite humbling and incredible to watch.

Everybody is welcome to attend, whatever stage of your grief journey you are at, however old you are, whoever you've lost.
The next Bereavement Cafe in Mansfield will take place on Monday 7th October 2024.
It will take place in the Flower Hall at Mansfield Crematorium between 10am and 12noon, if you follow the signs for reception, you will find us there.
The Bereavement Cafe is a place where people can have a cup of tea and a cake and chat to other people who might be going through similar experiences. It's not only is it a place to share thoughts, it will also help to point people in the right direction if they need specific advice and support.
We have set up a Facebook page, where will be posting more information and details of events going forward so please feel free to give us a like.
We'd like to thank PoFfles Coffee and Cake Emporium who have very kindly offered to provide cakes for the Bereavement Cafe.
The Bereavement Cafe's take place on the first Monday of the month.
