No two love stories are the same and I think that should mean that no two wedding ceremonies are the same. If you choose to use a wedding celebrant (like me) for your service, then there are so many things that you can include to make it special to you as a couple. Unity rituals normally come after the exchanging of the vows and can include family members, children, friends, even the family pets. There are a lot to choose from! Have a look at my previous blogs on Handfasting Sand Ceremonies and drinking from the quaich.
One of my favourite elements of a service is "Words of Wisdom", this is where the couple choose five people who are important to them, they could be family members or friends and they ask them to give them their advice on how to have a happy marriage.
Sometimes these words are serious advice and sometimes they are funny, there is no right or wrong. My favourite thing is that you never know what someone is going to say!
Words of wisdom are a lovely way of including family and friends in your day and give the service a really unique feeling.
