On the 21st , I will be doing a vow renewal, live on the radio!
I remember being a little girl and my Mum ALWAYS had the radio on and so from a very young age, I was obsessed with the presenters and the music and it was something I wanted to do. My dreams became a reality in 1999, when I started working full-time for my local radio station Mansfield 103.2, where I went from journalist to programme manager and breakfast show presenter.
Although radio has taken me all over the world, I am really proud that alongside working as a celebrant, I still manage to scratch my radio itch by presenting two weekend show s for them - Saturday mornings 11am-1pm and Sunday mornings 9am-1pm.
So imagine my joy, when there was a suggestion that I combine my two loves - being a radio presenter AND being a celebrant!
On the 24th October 2021, I will be renewing the vows on Tony and Yvette Price-Mear LIVE on the radio!
For most couples, after 40 years of marriage they would celebrate their ruby anniversary with something containing the precious gem, but not Tony and Yvette Price-Mear.
Tony and Yvette, who will celebrate their Ruby anniversary on the 24th October, have renewed their vows every 10 years since they first married in 1981. This year because of lockdown, they’ve decided to do something a bit different.
Not only will they be renewing their vows live on air, they've also decided to use the event to raise funds for the Carer’s Trust, the 4th Mansfield Woodhouse Scouts and Mansfield 103.2’s Kingsmill Hospital’s Toy Appeal. They are asking any little (and big) girls and boys who would like to be a bridesmaid or page boy to get involved virtually!
How to become involved;
1, Take a photograph of your child or yourself (or even your pet) dressed prettily
2, Make a suggested donation of £1 via the Go Fund Me Page for the above Charities.
3, Email the photograph to bridesmaids40@gmail.com – this is very important so we know how many Bridesmaids and Pageboys are taking part.
4, On Sunday 24th October at 12pm TWEET the photograph to @mansfield103 with the hashtag #Tonyandyvettes40th
The vow renewal will take place during my Sunday Brunch Show on Mansfield 103.2 Sunday 24th October 2021 between 9am and 1pm and will come live from the Forest Town Arena.
