I have been a celebrant now for almost 4 years. I can't believe how quickly that time has gone. I have genuinely loved every minute of it and can't wait for my celebrant journey to continue and grow. I started off being a funeral celebrant and then added in the training to be a wedding celebrant as well as officiating at naming ceremonies. The more weddings I did, the more I started to notice that there was a fine line between being a wedding celebrant and being a wedding planner, so I decided it was time to add that training to my skillset!
Over the years I have accidentally fallen into the role of event planner. At one of the radio stations I worked at, I organised our "Big Birthday Bash" concert which was for 2000 people at the Grimsby Auditorium and featured performances from Olly Murs, The Saturdays and The Wanted. Then there was a more intimate gig I arranged for Adele to promote her "21" album. This was for 150 people at the Riverhead Theatre in Louth. It's still a real pinch me moment in my career.
I've also organised parties, job fairs and outside broadcasts, so wedding planning feels like a natural addition.
The wedding planner service will in no way detract from my role as a celebrant, which is hugely important to me, it's just a bit of an added extra. So feel free to contact me if you would like to use me as a celebrant.
